This project celebrates folklore, music and art and is an adaptation of two combined folktales set in the village of Mordiford, Herefordshire.

Join in the adventures of a young boy and girl as they encounter many magical creatures, including witches, wizards, faeries and dragons. The story is set in the enchanting landscape of Mordiford and is fused together with five pieces of music, including background music.

The traditional stories 'Flying with Faeries' and The Mordiford Dragon' have been adapted by Thomas and the full project is available as an audio CD with accompanying paperback book. The story is narrated by local drama teacher Paul Baron.

Today, folklore is often defined as the traditional beliefs, customs, and stories of a community, passed through the generations by word of mouth. These traditions usually include music, stories, history, legends, and myths. The passing on of these folk arts is another way to preserve our histories, and keep local stories and traditions alive in each generation.

The project began in September 2016. Thomas had released a recording of compositions inspired by the areas of Mordiford, Priors Frome and Checkley in 2008 and had always wanted to create another recording linked to the area. With his interest in the folk genre, this seemed the way forward and so research began. It's an opportunity not just for the community, but anyone in Herefordshire and beyond and can be enjoyed by both children and adults.

The soothing music carries Folk and Celtic undertones and the pieces connect well with the story.
